Mia Kirshner stars in Hollywood thriller The Black Dahlia as the unfortunate and short-lived Elizabeth Short. Directed by Brian De Palma (who also directed "The Untouchables" and "Femme Fatale"), the movie is an adaptation of a James Ellroy's novel about the pursuit of the murderer of Hollywood actress Elizabeth Short. The movie also stars Josh Hartnett, Aaron Eckhart and Scarlett Johansson.

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Mia got her career break in TV series 24 in which she played the beautiful professional assassin Mandy. Stuff magazine ranked her number 38 in it's list of "102 Sexiest Women in the World" in 2002. In the same year, she was the cover girl for Stuff Magazine, together with Chyler Leigh. It was the first time the magazine featured two people on the cover.
