Leighton Meester is set to appear as pretty teen girl Blair Waldorf in new teen soap flick Gossip Girl.

The new series is about former best friends, Serena van der Woodsen (by Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), and their entangled romance with Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford).

Leighton Meester's best career performance is arguably in NBC drama Surface, in which she played the character Savannah Bennett.

She has also appeared in CSI: Miami, House (as Ali) and Shark (as Megan).
