Johnny Weissmuller is the "world's greatest Tarzan and and Swimmer of all times", according to his official site.

Johnny played the sixth Tarzan and is widely recognized as one who most defined the Tarzan role. (We recently heard the sad demise of the 11th Tarzan Gordon Scott.)

Johnny Weissmuller was also one of the world's best swimmers, having won 5 Olympic golds and set 67 world records. (Not very far from the greatest swimmer Mark Spitz.)

Born "Janos Weissmuller" in Romania, he took up swimming at a young age, on the advice of a doctor.
